I had a great conversation with Margaret Scrimgeour from Paengaroa Bible Chapel this week.
She shared how they are slowly getting their Rally programme up and running again after a break due to COVID.
“Last year we had around 20-25 kids from the local school coming along to Rally. We start at 6pm with some games and then share a simple meal together before the children share in a time of learning from the Bible. The food in the tummy makes for better listeners. Some of the children take home the leftovers at the end of the night”.
Margaret shared how their church has had a long-standing relationship with the school over the years, previously with Bible in Schools (Launchpad).
Margaret is currently involved in a local school as a tutor, spending time with the children and helping with their learning: “Connection with the school and the community is so important, it can be as simple as taking morning tea to the teachers to build that relationship”.
