Danielle Diprose, CCCNZ National Administrator
It was a real honour to be able to sit down recently with a number of people who faithfully serve their local churches in the area of finances and to hear the joys and challenges of this area of church administration. To see how God has shown up time and time again in providing the resources for his people in his church was by far the highlight of the sessions. God doesn’t need our resources – but he does desire our obedience.
As we discussed and wrestled with topics such as earmarked gifts, donee status, payroll and speakers gifts we came to greater joint clarity in how to manage these areas of finances within the day to day administration of finances within our churches. But then we looked up and explored topics such as vision-based budgeting and telling stories of God’s faithfulness through our financial reporting channels, we were reminded again that the work that we do in serving the Church is a ministry that can support the Body of Christ to function in its fullness.
What a blessing to get this response from one of the attendees of the workshop: ‘I have a feeling there could be more to my role than I currently realise’.
Please pray for our financial administrators: That they will rejoice in the Lord always with prayer, petition and thanksgiving (Philippians 4:4-6).
