Last Sunday, two people were baptised at Mt Wellington Community Church (MWCC) in Auckland and six at Feilding Bible Chapel (FBC) in the Manawatū.
Russell Grainger, Senior Pastor at MWCC, writes:
“It was incredible to hear their testimonies of how God has been, and still is, working in their lives. These guys have been through a lot in their lives with so many stories to tell.

“The older of the two, Pakira (in his 70s), started coming to church because a 16-year-old guy in our church started talking to him at a local park. They established a friendship, and the young guy invited him to church and was part of his baptism on Sunday. How awesome is that? It just shows age is no barrier.
“The other guy, Eric, was walking past the church one morning with his partner. They had been having a bit of a rough time, and as they walked past, he said to her, 'Why don’t we go to church?' and they did, and have been coming regularly ever since.”
Mikaela Hosking, Youth and Young Adults Ministry Leader at FBC, comments:
“It was awesome to be with six young people on Sunday afternoon declaring their faith in Jesus and obeying his command to be baptised. Each with different testimonies, but the same amazing God.
“It was cool that what initially was going to be a couple of baptisms ended up being a separate baptism service with six baptisms! God is so good.”
