What an encouragement to hear about the Lunchtime Zoom Prayer conversations that Prayer Enabler Jackie Millar has been facilitating.
These are 30-minute conversations where a topic is introduced, there is a chance to hear directly from a church about what they are doing in their context, to ask questions, and to pray together.
Some of the recent conversations focused on:
Creating Dedicated Prayer Spaces
Prayer and Fasting
Getting the corporate prayer gathering off the ground
Jackie says,
"Thank you to Christine Renner from Chapel Hill Community Church, Oban Grobler from The Anchor Church, and Marius Dryfhout from Feilding Bible Chapel who shared about their context, in light of these topics."
Kent Crawford from Putaruru Gospel Chapel was one of the participants and shared that,
“Some of the highlights for me were thinking about why we fast and pray and what our motive for fasting is. There are things happening in the spiritual space that we don’t comprehend and will never fully comprehend but how often do I take time to seek the Lord in regards to this space?
"The main motive should be around knowing Jesus more and what he wants, not what I want. It is a time when we can really seek and hear from the Lord in regard to what is the root sin behind the struggles and challenges in life. It pushes us to grapple with the question, do I really want more of Jesus in my life and then to listen to what he says about the state of my heart for him?”
If you're keen to grow and be encouraged in prayer we'd recommend signing up to receive Jackie's Prayer Newsletter (there is a new one coming out next week!).
