Our vision is to see churches (with the regional camps and national support ministries that serve them) working together to point people to Jesus through the gospel from the Bible. For that reason, it was a privilege on Saturday to join almost 30 leaders from eight churches across Auckland gathered at Coopers Beach Christian Youth Camp for the Far North Summit.
A huge thank you to Evelyn Laybourn, Coopers Beach Christian Youth Camp and the Mangonui Bible Chapel church family for your warm hospitality and generosity.
The keynote speaker was Andrew Clemow, Pastor at Clark Road Chapel, who spoke from Philippians 2. Andrew reminded attendees “that being in Christ means our practice as churches is to work out our faith in unity for the gospel, with love and humility, not uniformity”.
Rod Bridge, from Dargaville Gospel Church, reflected on the youth workshop he attended (run by Craig Barrow), and shared how it got him thinking about the kind of reception the kids get when they come to church. He also said it reminded him that now is the time to lead by example by listening to their questions and making church a safe place for them to come.
Let’s be praying for all the Northland churches as new leaders come forward and they encourage their youth, children and young adults.
