Hope Community Church recently hosted a Women’s Retreat at Lake Rotoiti. Women from the age of 13 years through to 90 attended.
Women’s Pastor Antoinette Irvine said it was “a rich time of fellowship, getting to know one another, great spiritual food, worship, prayer and the great outdoors”.The speaker was Debbie Veale (pictured below), whose teaching ability, in Antoinette's words, “was high calibre, well-prepared and grounded in scriptural truths”.
It was a great time of fellowship. Some women walked to Bushline Hut, others paddle-boarded on the lake or went on shorter treks through the bush. They also had three crafts activities: bead making, stone painting, and adult colouring.
Antoinette says,
“The women appreciated sitting together, being creative, and chatting. I am sure not many would have time in their usual day to indulge in these activities."
Antoinette is very grateful to all who contributed to making the retreat possible and to Teapot Valley Christian Camp for cooking the chicken korma beforehand for them.
