Children's ministry leaders from Greerton Bible Church, Paengaroa Bible Chapel and Lifezone Church met in Tauranga this week. They welcomed Niky Hardgrave, local children's ministry leader, who shared her vast knowledge and experiences on the topic of neurodiversity.
'Neurodiversity' describes the variety of ways different brains work and process information. Neurodivergent people may include kids with ADHD, autism or other neurobiological differences.
CCCNZ Children and Family Ministries Enabler Julie McKinnon says,
"Niky had lots of great ideas to help leaders feel better equipped to serve and minister with neurodivergent children."
For ministry leaders from CCCNZ-Open Brethren Heritage churches, regional gatherings like this one are an opportunity to come together with others who have a shared theological framework to discuss real life ministry issues and ideas with each other.
We really appreciate the opportunity to encourage regional gatherings like this one (and others among elders, admin, prayer, pastoral, camping and youth leaders).
