Our vision is to see churches (and the regional campsites and national support ministries) that serve them working together to point people to Jesus through the gospel from the Bible.
For this reason, it was a real delight to be with ministry leaders from 12 churches at the Canterbury Regional Summit at Rutland Street Church on Saturday.
The day had a hum to it!
We are a movement of independent churches because we recognise that Jesus directly leads each local church.
It was encouraging to see the various directions God is leading Emmett Street Community Church, Rowley Bible Church, Christchurch Korean Church, Church Street Bible Chapel (Timaru), and Halswell Community Church as they shared stories of God's work among them (pictured below).
In addition to the churches mentioned above, other churches represented were Riccarton Community Church, Durham Street Gospel Hall, Glentunnel Chapel, Westchurch, Bryndwr Chapel, and The Embassy @ North Beach.
As a movement, we are committed to the “priesthood of all believers” God has gifted each one of us to serve. It was exciting seeing so many people from different churches wanting to grow the gifts God has given them.
I can’t wait to see how more people are pointed to Jesus, through the new connections and commitments made due to Summit.
A huge thanks to the team from Riccarton Community Church for leading us in singing together, to Tom Gilpin for opening God's Word, and to Heather Rout and the team at Rutland Street for serving us all so well. We are so grateful!
