It's encouraging to see youth and community workers working together to reach their communities, and a bonus to have this work supported and acknowledged by local councils.

Sinead Coleman, one of the youth workers at Halswell Community Church, was recently honoured with a Community Award from Christchurch City Council.
This recognises Sinead's work in helping establish new youth work ventures in the south of the city. It's good that the council is supportive of Christian youth work, and Sinead is at the vanguard of developing relationships between Halswell Community Church and the Christchurch City Council.
In the above photo, she is being presented with her award from Andrei Moore, councillor for Halswell, who generously came to a recent Halswell Community Church Sunday morning meeting, with a word of thanks from James Harris of CDN Trust (Community Development Network), associated with Riccarton Community Church.
We've appreciated seeing the ways Halswell Community Church and Riccarton Community Church (through CDN) have partnered together for gospel-centred community outreach, such as youth work and kids camps. Do you have a story of how your church has supported and encouraged community outreach through another CCCNZ/Open Brethren Heritage Church in your region? We'd love to hear it!
