Lighthouse Church in Tutukaka started life as a church plant out of Clark Road Chapel in Whangārei, and is now a thriving group that meets in a small coastal community in the Far North.
This week, CCCNZ Prayer Enabler Jackie Millar had a great conversation with Trish Ellis from Lighthouse Church about prayer, and she comments:
“Trish and her husband Greg open their lounge room, during various times of the church calendar as a 24-7 Prayer Room, such as during the running of the Alpha Course, Easter, and Pentecost.”
Prayer Room for Easter and leading up to Pentecost.
Trish mentioned that their heart "is to be known as a church who prays a lot...whose DNA is prayer".
The corporate prayer rhythms on a Sunday include 30 minutes of prayer before church each Sunday, waiting upon the Spirit to lead them in prayer for that Sunday's service, and every second Sunday, the whole church engages in intercessory prayer, either in small groups or all together.
We love to see churches engaging in prayer. Please share with us your church’s prayer journey, we’d love to hear from you!
