On Sunday, Lincoln Road Bible Chapel (LRBC) hosted the gold medal-winning Nagaland Madrigal Singers from Northern India who were in New Zealand for the World Choir Games.
Several years ago, a woman named Kaisa from Nagaland lived in New Zealand and attended LRBC. She got in touch with friends and made the connection between the choir and Pastor Catherine Perich who was also singing in the games.
Catherine writes:
“People from the church picked up the 23 singers from the city, hosted them for church and a shared lunch and then were treated to a world class recital. The concert was attended by people from the Indian community and several other local churches.
“Most of the group are professional musicians and many serve as music leaders and pastors in their churches at home.”
Church members took the group to Muriwai to experience a beach, most for the first time!
