Christchurch Korean Church hosted a Bible Conference from 12 - 14 July. The keynote speaker was Kyung Sik Jun from Los Angeles, who is currently studying for a Ministry in Biblical Counselling PhD at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Elder Scott Choi said they usually send out open invitations to the Korean community by advertising the conferences in the Korean newspaper.
Scott writes,
“We, therefore, had several visitors who came interested in hearing God's Word, who had not been to our church before as well as some friends and acquaintances who church members had invited.”
A pot-luck dinner held on the second night of the conference.
The theme was Guard your Heart (Proverbs 4:23). Scott comments, “The importance of the gospel message and that God is with us whatever problems we may face even if the problems do not necessarily go away were impressed upon us during the conference.”
Scott said they are grateful to be reminded that the Bible is wholly sufficient and that we must fill our hearts with the truth.
