Kingston Community Church in Palmerston North celebrated the opening of a new community hub with a “Community Fun Event”, where the church family came together to engage with and serve their community. They served hot food, hired bouncy castles, and had face painting and craft stalls.
Ministry Pastor Joel Birkin writes,
“The way that our church connected with our community in conversation across the night was awesome to see. We personally invited our surrounding neighbours through door-knocking and personal invites which resulted in a great turnout.
“Our heart behind this event was to begin to form stronger relationships with our local community and to deepen relationships with parents of youth and children we serve. A number of new relationships were formed with many asking if their children could join youth and other ministries.”
