Last Friday, Hillcrest Chapel hosted ‘Risen’, an Easter event for families. Approximately 65 people attended, with around half of them being from the local community.
Children and Families Pastor Rach Dixon writes,
“We shared the story of Easter with the kids and their families—they took home a copy of the story and some props with the challenge to share it with someone else. The kids made an 'empty tomb' craft to take home also.
“It was a pretty relaxed evening with lots of opportunities for people to chat and connect with each other. It was awesome to have the opportunity to bless and encourage people who aren't part of our church family, and to tell them the good news about Jesus' death and resurrection and what that can mean for them.
“Some of the families who came along have connections through our KidZone programme or through Launchpad which we facilitate in our local primary school. We are seeing some familiar faces coming along to various events we hold throughout the year; it's great to keep building on those connections and growing relationships.
“One family who came to our Easter event also turned up on Sunday morning for our service!”
