It has been a privilege to be in Sydney this week joining with leaders who serve amongst the CCCAust (Christian Community Churches of Australia) movement in each state in Australia (pictured above). What an encouragement. I’ve been blessed to hear how churches are working together to point people to Jesus, through the gospel from the Bible. While in Sydney I’ve been able to touch base briefly with Matthew Wright from Manawarū Bible Chapel studying at Sydney Missionary & Bible College and also Alan Thompson who is the Head of New Testament at SMBC and originally from Manurewa Bible Church.

It has also been encouraging speaking to Jonathan Dykes, the Executive Director of Katoomba Christian Convention, about having Bible teachers from Katoomba conventions speaking at camps and campsites across our movement. (A delight to hear that 7,000 teenagers and adults will be taught from the Bible at Katoomba event this year and to know that Katoomba was started by an Open Brethren family in Dunedin in the late 1800s!)
I’ve enjoyed chatting to Peter Weldon the CEO of Stewards Australia. I loved being in a building developed by Stewards on the site of an old assembly that now houses a 300-seat auditorium for a Fijian church, a Bible College, the Stewards offices, and 15 stories of apartments.

It was lovely to see the growing partnership between Stewards Australia and the CCCNSW team and churches.
