Last weekend, over 1400 people took part in an amazing event hosted by Heretaunga Christian Centre called 'The Christmas Story'.
It's a walk-through event with stalls, costumes and characters that make the Christmas story come to life in a tangible way for their community.
Operations and Sunday Service Leader Steve Shirley says, "Not only did we have our biggest ever number of people take part, but we also had perhaps our most ever spiritual conversations with people. And that is the most important thing".
Many people made this event possible under God’s guidance: the set-up and pack-up crew, the catering crew, costume makers, mural painters, angels, town criers, Roman contingent, boat builders, shepherds, wise men, teachers of the Law, Mary and Joseph, Elizabeth and Zachariah, the welcoming people, those who served in the craft tents (bakers, potters, florists, leather craft, and tapestry workers), and the people that prayed and supported behind the scenes.
We recognise the huge effort that each church member invested, using their gifts, skills, and time to share the love of Christ and the true meaning of Christmas. We feel so encouraged and inspired by your work!
