On Thursday (16 November), around 40 church leaders and theology enthusiasts from Waikato & Bay of Plenty gathered at Raleigh Street Christian Centre for Dinner & Doctrine. This was a chance to enjoy a meal together and begin a conversation about theology and doctrine.
This dinner also functioned as a launch event for the Pastoral Theologians Fellowship. The fellowship has been formed to draw leaders together in efforts to encourage and assist the practice of theology among our CCCNZ churches.
11 churches were represented, with people coming from Chapel Hill Community Church, Hillcrest Chapel, Lakes Church Rotorua, Lifezone Church, Manawarū Bible Chapel, Matamata Bible Church, Northgate Community Church, Raleigh Street Christian Centre, Tauwhare Gospel Chapel, Te Awamutu Bible Chapel, and The Orchard Church.
Nick Goodwin, Pastoral Theologians Fellowship Coordinator, writes:
“I was delighted by the strong interest shown in the event, with so many attending from around the Waikato and Bay of Plenty churches. I’m also encouraged to see how leaders in our regions have recognised the value of coming together in community to discuss theological topics”.
The next Dinner & Doctrine event will be held in Auckland on Thursday 23 November 2023 at 6:30 pm, at Birkenhead Community Church.
