On Tuesday 31st October, Hillcrest Chapel opened its doors to the community and hosted the “Family Fiesta” event.
Sarah Chalmers, Hillcrest Chapel Youth Pastor, writes: “There was a range of stations inside and outside the chapel building including a sausage sizzle, cupcake stand and ice cream servery!”
Sarah continues, “Every 15 minutes groups were invited to sit around the fire and listen to a story about ‘God’s Very Good Idea’ exploring our creation, fall and redemption. Everyone was invited to leave a decorated name tag in the frame display as a reminder that we are all part of God’s very good plan!”
Sarah concludes, “Our young people were instrumental in running the event and served by helping run games and painting faces. It was so cool being part of our church community coming together to serve our wider community and helping them to experience the goodness of God”.
