We recently shared about the breakfast at Willow Park on Friday 13 October, where a number of church leaders from Auckland and Northland gathered together to talk about how churches and camps can be working together.
Leaders shared how they have grown flourishing relationships with local camps to share the good news about Jesus, through the gospel from the Scriptures.
Richard Davis, CCCNZ Camping Enabler, writes:
“Marina Shannon, Orewa Community Church, spoke on the relationship that the youth from her church are building through the opportunities to lead at the Marsden Bay Kids Camps. By spending time with the Clark Road Chapel youth during camp, Marina mentioned that the OCC youth are growing in their faith but also growing their own leadership ability.
“Gordon Fountain, Eden Community Church, asked the group to consider how we create spaces to have ‘God conversations’ that build on the church’s own community engagement. What place might a weekend at camp help grow those conversations?”
Are you keen to explore how your church's community outreach, developing leaders, and gospel ministry might be strengthened by partnering with a camp? We'd love to host a breakfast like this in your region!
Look out for invites and please contact Richard if you have a church-camp partnership story you want to share, he would love to hear from you.
