Every year in October, LifeChurch Manurewa has a White Sunday, a traditional celebration in Pasifika churches where children take the stage to minister to the congregation.
Pastor Ane Ponifasio writes, “They recite bible verses, and perform different items like singing, dancing and acting out Bible stories etc... We also do a formal prayer for baby dedication”.
Ane continues, “We have children come from foster and residential care homes that are brought by their caregivers every Sunday, they are loved and enjoy learning about Jesus.
“The best part of the day is the lunch afterwards, when they are spoilt with a special feast of favourite foods and naughty treats and take-home goody bags”.
Ane concludes, “It's like one big party for all the children in the church. Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these'”.
