I’ve had the privilege of participating and contributing in a small way to the NZ Christian Network Leaders' Congress this week.
A stark workshop (which was excellent) was titled The Leadership Crisis in the Church and Ministry Training, highlighting the lack of churches growing next generation leadership.
Sitting through the workshop I couldn’t get out of my mind Alex Pope, the youngest attendee. Alex is a youth pastor at Birkenhead Community Church in Auckland. He was brought by Dan Tyler, pastor at BCC.
I appreciate growing leaders is more than this, but Dan inviting Alex to be with him is a reminder of the simple power of inviting younger leaders to be with us, in our homes, ministries and daily lives.
