A couple of snapshots of activities Rosedale Bible Chapel in Invercargill has been participating in.
Ministry Coordinator and Elder Nigel Winder and Administrator Hannah Winder write:
“At Rosedale, during our Sunday morning service time, we split into groups and moved around prayer stations that had been set up with different areas to focus our prayers on. The opportunity was given to meet again and pray around the interactive stations during the week at our Men’s Prayer Breakfast and our fortnightly Prayer Zoom and homegroup”.
About 18 churches are part of this Soak the City in Prayer initiative, each taking a week to focus prayerfully on the city of Invercargill. The Winders say, “We prayed for our civic leaders, teachers and schools, the lost and hurting, unsaved family members, church unity etc”.
As a follow on from the prayer initiative, Rosedale Bible Church joined forces with another local church to serve the local community.
“Projects involved planting trees at several different sites, gardening, painting, bark chipping and general maintenance at four schools/early childhood centres, baking and card making to thank the Police/Ambulance/Fire crews, Oranga Tamariki staff and other community service people, rubbish pick up at Ōreti Beach, just to name a few”.
