Working Bee at Esk Valley on Saturday 9 September.
On Saturday 9 September, volunteers from different churches gathered at Esk Valley in Hawke's Bay for a Working Bee. Some of the churches involved were Onekawa Bible Church, Riverbend Bible Church and the local Assemblies of God church. There were also volunteers from various areas: Napier, Hastings, Te Kuiti, New Plymouth, Tauranga, and Rotorua.
Maria Henderson, from Riverbend Bible Church, writes:
“Mike Aldridge from York Street Chapel has come down several times with his 2T digger and has been a great blessing to all he has helped.
“Antoinette Martin (Onekawa Bible Church) and I have been working together to get donated computers to people who lost theirs in the flood. We have also been in regular and ongoing contact with many people. Antoinette has seen about four of these people come to visit their church, plus a Mormon family they rescued during the cyclone".
There is a need for builders and other tradies, fencers, diggers/bobcats and operators, and general hands willing to get dirty and help.
If anyone wants to help with clean-up and rebuild, don't hesitate to get in touch with Maria by email at m.henderson@oac.org.nz.
